Here is the result:
Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (PKR - PR) - 16,741 with a majority of 5,379 votes
Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun (MCA - BN) - 11,362 votes
This win by Pakatan Rakyat (PR) is with reduced majority compared to GE13, however there is an increase in the popular vote in terms of percentage.
How did this happen? Simple, there is lower voter turnout compared to GE13 but of those who turned up, a larger percentage of voters backed PR's candidate.
What is the conclusion here? Inconclusive or and speculate all you want till the cows come home.
There are fewer candidates this time around. The voter sentiments changed, many events have happened since GE13 and different issues are on people's minds now.
What now?
Just wait and see. Focus on other more important issues gripping our beloved country. Lastly, would be interesting to see if this Kajang move eventually leads to a Selangor move as well.
